Unlike in the forest, urban trees gain their value from their service to us – they are forced to accommodate people through unyielding interventions until they are deemed unsafe or unwanted.
These trees adversely push back with resilient growth in defiance of what urbanites want. In their second life as a Creature, the trees become wild with their imposing and otherworldly presence.
They provide us an opportunity to reshape our curiosity and forge a connection with the extraordinary.
